Mauve toned and into Purple and Blue Agapanthus Flower in buds.
Agapanthus Flower is also known as Lily of the Nile. Agapanthus is a flowering bulb that begins to bud in November in Australia and then flowers for a few months.
The flower colours range from:
Medium or Clear Blue
Deep or Dark Blue
Violet to Purple and
White.
There are two types of agapanthus deciduous and evergreen. I have only ever seen the evergreen variety. Once the flowers have faded you can deadhead the flower. This is done by cutting of the dead bloom. The stem of the bloom may also be removed.
A close view of the Agapanthus Buds just waiting to burst open into flower.
Photo taken in Melbourne, Australia.
